James O'Dowd

London Gaelic Football Team - Lead Sport Scientist at GAA

James O'Dowd is a highly experienced sport scientist with a focus on performance monitoring, training load analysis, and strength and conditioning. Currently serving as the Lead Sport Scientist for the London Gaelic Football Team at GAA since May 2018, James has been instrumental in developing periodised training programs and assisting in player recovery strategies. With prior experience at Barnet FC, GB Canoeing, and various educational institutions, James has demonstrated expertise in designing tailored training programs, conducting physiological testing, and implementing effective teaching practices in science and physical education at Canons High School. James holds a Master of Science in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology from St Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Birmingham.
