Mike Townsend has over 20 years of experience in software development and management in various industries. Mike currently works as the Principal Solutions Architect at G1 Therapeutics, leading architecture, design, and operational strategies for new product development. Mike also manages data ingestion, cleansing, and validation to support the company’s data needs. Before joining G1, Mike worked at GSK for 16 years, where they held various positions, including DevOps Manager, Portfolio Manager, Development Manager & Senior Architect, and System Engineer. Mike worked with development teams, collaborated with business leaders, managed projects, and analyzed data to improve data quality and reduce processing time. Prior to their tenure at GSK, Mike worked as a Software Developer for INTELLIGENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS LIMITED and GE, where they developed custom solutions and worked on Nuclear Core Optimization software.

Mike Townsend earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in MIS from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 1987 to 1992. In 2000 to 2001, they furthered their education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and earned another Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
