Alan Yan began their work experience in 2013 as a Research Intern at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2014, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Siemens. From 2017 to 2021, Alan held various roles, including a Software Engineering Intern at Petuum, Inc., a Researcher & Developer Consultant at Metaculus, and a Software Engineer at the MIT Media Lab. Alan also volunteered as a Community Organization Volunteer at the Center for Humane Technology in 2019. In 2018, Alan served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the MIT Computational and Visual Education Lab. Most recently, starting in 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Crayon until 2021. Alan is currently employed as a Product Manager at Future, starting in 2022.
Alan Yan completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University from 2012 to 2016. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Engineering & Management with a focus on Integrated Design & Management (IDM) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2019.
