Luis Castanheira is a seasoned professional in the field of electrochemistry with extensive experience in research and development across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Electrochemistry at Fusion Fuel since October 2021, Luis has previously held roles including Senior R&D Engineer at Symbio, where responsibilities included defining benchmarking methods and providing technical support for membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs). At the National Physical Laboratory, Luis managed the Electrochemical Energy Conversion Laboratory focusing on PEM fuel cells and electrolysis R&D. Additional experience includes research engineering roles at LEPMI and AXANE, Ecole Centrale Paris, and CT2M, where involvement ranges from corrosion studies to tribological characterization. Luis holds a Master’s degree from CentraleSupélec and an Integrated Master in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade do Minho.
