Jon Armstrong has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Jon currently serves as the Vice President of IT & Security at Fullsteam, where they provide leadership, strategy, and architecture for the company's engagement with technology. Jon also oversees the alignment of technology and security postures with business objectives to support the company's growth.
Prior to joining Fullsteam, Jon was the Director of IT and Security at the same company, where they were responsible for bootstrapping corporate IT services and the infrastructure for the FullsteamPay gateway. Jon successfully built a high-availability cloud-native PCI compliant payments gateway and established a PCI compliance program that passed Level 1 Service Provider audits.
Before their tenure at Fullsteam, Jon held positions at Heartland Payment Systems, where they served as a Software Development Manager and a Development Team Lead for Billing Solutions. In these roles, they built and maintained an ACH processing gateway that processed over $20B of ach volume.
Jon also worked at Tier Technologies as an Application Support Engineer and Software Engineer. Jon provided customer-oriented solutions for an electronic payment processing system and developed software systems using Java and C#. Jon collaborated with a distributed workforce to ensure project success.
Additionally, Jon was a Website Engineer - Contractor at Vital Care Inc, where they assisted with the design and development of a web application using Visual Studio 2010, C# 4.0, ASP MVC, Linq, JQuery, and SQL 2008.
Early in their career, Jon worked at UDA Technologies as a Software Developer and Project Manager. Jon leveraged various technologies, including VB.NET 2.0, VB6, VBA, XML, Visual Studio 2005, and MS-SQL 2005, to develop and maintain award-winning construction project management software.
Jon's work experience began while they were a student at Auburn University, where they served as a Student Employee from 2002 to 2006.
