Sam Mathew is a highly experienced researcher with a focus on biosynthesis and enzymatic reactions. Currently a Senior Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh since April 2021, Sam Mathew leads initiatives to develop commercial lipid production processes. As a Review Editor for the journals 'Frontiers in Chemistry' and 'Frontiers in Microbiology,' Sam Mathew engages with the chemical biology community to enhance scholarly communication. Previous roles include a Contract Researcher at Syngenta, where project reports were compiled and presented, and postdoctoral positions at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and the University of Groningen, focusing on enzyme development and bio-catalytic applications. Sam Mathew holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Yeungnam University and a Master of Technology in Bioinformatics from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy.
