Mac Canby is an experienced exploration leader in the mining industry, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Exploration at Freeport-McMoRan since May 2018, where Mac oversees exploration for a major copper-gold-molybdenum producer. Prior to this role, Mac held the position of Vice President of Eurasia Exploration at Freeport McMoRan Exploration Corporation from March 2007 to May 2018, managing all aspects of generative and advanced exploration programs. Previously, Mac worked as Manager of Generative Exploration at Phelps Dodge from 2006 to 2012. Mac holds a Master's Degree in Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno, earned between 1989 and 1992, and a Bachelor of Science in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, completed from 1982 to 1986.
