Kingsley Hortin is a seasoned ventilation engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as Chief Ventilation Engineer at Freeport-McMoRan since July 2024, Kingsley is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating engineering projects to ensure their successful completion. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Ventilation Consultant at AMC Consultants, where expertise was provided for various international projects, and as Ventilation Specialist/Consultant at Hatch, contributing to projects across Australia, Canada, the USA, and Chile. Earlier positions involved senior roles at Xstrata Copper in Canada and WMC Resources, focusing on ventilation safety standards, management of ventilation systems, and design and planning during mine expansions. Kingsley began the career with roles at Mount Isa Mines after earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Curtin University.
