Alvaro J. González is an accomplished computational biologist with extensive experience in the application of machine learning and bioinformatics to advance disease detection and personalized medicine. Currently serving as Manager and Staff Computational Biologist at Freenome, Alvaro leads a team focusing on methylation and chromatin biology modeling. Previously, Alvaro held roles at 10X Genomics, where contributions included software development for single-cell ATAC and spatial transcriptomics products. Prior to that, significant work as a Bioinformatician at Epinomics focused on machine learning models to analyze the epigenome. Alvaro's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Delaware, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
