Sarah Haggerty is an experienced education professional with a focus on adult literacy and support for individuals with disabilities. Currently serving as a Disability Specialist at the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services since August 2014, Sarah also teaches ESL adult learners and mentors first-year teachers at Foundation Communities. Previous roles include Trainer for the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas, where Sarah educated ESL teachers on best practices, and a Computer Literacy Instructional Coach aiding Workforce Solutions clients. Earlier experience includes teaching and mentoring student teachers in the Austin Independent School District from 2006 to 2012. Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Adult and Continuing Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University.
