Marlene Subhashini is an accomplished urban planner and artist with extensive experience in municipal planning and community development. Currently serving as the Assistant City Manager and Director of the Community Development Department for the City of Foster City since August 2015, Marlene has held various key roles including Interim Community Development Director and Planning Manager, demonstrating strong leadership in planning, code enforcement, and project management. Previously, Marlene has worked with the City of Morgan Hill and the City of Santa Clara in consultancy roles, alongside establishing Kaagaz, a business dedicated to unique handcrafted paper wall art. Marlene holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from San Jose State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology.
