Malath Makhay-Bozym, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional in the field of pharmacology and clinical research with extensive experience in drug development and scientific affairs. Currently serving as Director of Research & Development, Scientific Affairs, and Medical Writing at MediciNova, Inc. since September 2010, Malath has been instrumental in the submission of numerous commercial Investigational New Drug applications to the FDA and EMA, and has collaborated on preclinical studies. Prior roles include Associate Director at Synteract, Senior Research Associate at TorreyPines Therapeutics, and Scientist at ACADIA Pharmaceuticals, where Malath contributed to the development of ACP-103, which received FDA approval in 2016. With a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Western Michigan University and a certificate in Clinical Trials Design & Management, Malath also has experience in academia as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University.
