Angela Mummaw has extensive experience in biology and community organization. Currently serving as the Middle Tennessee Organizer for Appalachian Voices since May 2022, Angela is focused on assisting communities affected by the coal industry, particularly in relation to the Cumberland City Fossil Plant closure and opposition to the Tennessee Valley Authority's gas projects. Angela has also been a Research Associate at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas since October 2014 and has been a General Biology Instructor at Austin Peay State University since August 2013. Previous roles include Research Assistant at the Center of Excellence for Field Biology at APSU. Angela holds a Master’s Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Austin Peay State University.
