Melissa Helt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social work and support services. Currently serving as a School Social Worker for Fort Madison Community School District since August 2016, Melissa previously held roles as an Employment Specialist at Southeastern Community College, where support was provided to young adults in achieving educational and career objectives, and as a Service Coordinator at Optimae LifeServices, overseeing staff and direct care for individuals with mental health diagnoses. Prior experience includes working as a Family Consultant/Remedial Specialist at Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, assisting families involved with the Department of Human Services, and as an Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor at the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services, offering outpatient treatment for youth with substance abuse disorders.
