Margaret Alrutz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Margaret is currently working as the Head of Customer Experience at Ford Pro since October 2021. Prior to this, Margaret worked as an HCD and Innovation Strategist, providing advisory and mentorship services to executives, teams, and students in areas such as product management, innovation strategy, and organizational change. Margaret also worked with the Electric Vehicle and Autonomous Vehicle teams at Ford Motor Company. Margaret has experience in community outreach and recruitment, having worked with Read to Succeed Buffalo, Inc. to recruit Volunteer Literacy Tutors. Additionally, they have held multiple roles at Steelcase Health (formerly Nurture by Steelcase) in healthcare strategy, strategic marketing, experience design, global services, and design research. Margaret also took a personal sabbatical in 2014 to support social innovation.
Margaret Alrutz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University between the years 1986 and 1990. Margaret further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Design degree in Human-centered Communication Design from the Institute of Design (ID) from 1999 to 2002. In addition to their degrees, Margaret Alrutz obtained a certification as an Experience Economy Expert from Pine and Gilmore in October 2011.
