Elissa Spencer is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Managing Counsel for Transactions & Market Compliance at Ford Motor Company since March 2020, where leadership is provided to the legal team supporting the global supply chain. Prior to Ford, Elissa worked at Whirlpool Corporation from October 2015 to February 2020 as Counsel, managing a diverse litigation portfolio and advising on risk avoidance strategies. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from June 2014 to September 2015, handling various agency litigation issues, and as an Associate Attorney at Arnold & Porter from September 2008 to June 2014, focusing on complex commercial litigation. Elissa began their legal career as a Judicial Clerk at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from August 2007 to August 2008. Elissa holds a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from Michigan State University.
