Margaret Mliwa serves as a Senior Regional Program Officer at the Ford Foundation since September 2017, with previous roles including Regional Program Officer and Acting Regional Director for Eastern Africa. Prior to this, Margaret held the position of Country Director at Restless Development from January 2012 to August 2017, as well as various roles such as Head of Operations and Program Manager for the Generation of Leaders initiative. Margaret's experience also includes working as a Lead Consultant for UNDP and serving as Chief Youth Officer at the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and The Arts in Kenya. Additionally, Margaret has a substantial background in education, having worked as a High School Teacher at the Ministry of Education, Kenya, from May 1990 to December 2006. Academically, Margaret is pursuing a Master of Applied Philosophy & Ethics at Strathmore University, having previously earned a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University and a Diploma of Education from Siriba Teachers' Training College.
