Gary Twohig

Gary Twohig is a board member of the Football Association of Ireland and a former general manager of Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN).

Born in Dublin, Gary has always been passionate about sports. Gary played football and rugby in school, and later went on to study sports science at university. After graduation, Gary began their career in the fitness industry, working as a personal trainer and then as a sales manager for a sports nutrition company.

In 2017, Gary was recruited by GPN to be their general manager for the Nordic region. In this role, they were responsible for the P&L for the company's operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Gary successfully turned around the business in the Nordics, increasing revenue and slashing SG&A costs by over 30%. Gary also secured new distribution deals with major retailers such as Gymgrossisten.com, SATS gyms, 7 Eleven and ICA Sweden.

In 2020, Gary left GPN to join the Football Association of Ireland as a board member. In this role, they are responsible for the development and growth of football in Ireland.

Twohig completed their Masters of Business Studies at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and their Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Politics at University College Dublin. Gary also has certification from Glanbia Performance Nutrition in Leading The Glanbia Way and from Samsung Electronics in Samsung Leader to Leader Programme (G-TLC), Samsung Leadership Academy.
