William Surman currently serves as the Deputy Director General at FoodDrinkEurope, overseeing strategic communications, public affairs, and ESG efforts for an organization that represents nearly 300,000 food and drink manufacturers across Europe. In addition, William has held the position of Chairperson at FARMERS OVERSEAS ACTION GROUP since 2008, focusing on health, education, and agricultural projects in rural Uganda. Previous roles include Director of Communications at CropLife International, Communications and Parliamentary Adviser at the National Farmers' Union, and Senior Reporter at Farmers Guardian. William's educational background includes a short course in High Impact Leadership from the University of Cambridge, a course on Sustainable Development from SOAS University of London, and a degree in History from the University of Leeds.
