Calla D. is currently serving as the Chapter Co-Lead for the Food Recovery Network, where Calla established Rice University's first chapter, coordinated partnerships with local restaurants and organizations, and conducted policy research. Previously, as a Food Systems and Rural Development Intern at the S M Sehgal Foundation, Calla authored a significant report on maternal and child nutrition in rural India and contributed to outreach initiatives impacting over 4.1 million villagers. Other experiences include working as a Garden Worker at the Betty and Jacob Friedman Holistic Garden, serving as a certified Ice Hockey Official for USA Hockey, co-founding the second-hand clothing business Thriftsbycalamari that contributed to charitable causes, and assisting research at Georgetown University’s SAMP Lab. Calla is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science at Rice University, following a high school diploma from Holton-Arms School and earlier education at the Seoul Foreign School.
