Clara Velez Fraga has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Clara started their career in 1994 as a Political Adviser in the European Parliament. From 1999 to 2002, they worked as the Deputy Commercial & Marketing Director FITUR at IFEMA. In 2002, they joined the European Commission as a Communications Officer. Clara then joined FAO in 2003 and held several roles, including Promotion and Liaison Officer and Communications and Promotion Officer, until 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as the UN Expo Coordinator at the United Nations. Most recently, since 2016, they have been the Chief Outreach and Promotions at FAO.
Clara Velez Fraga's education history includes a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Derecho from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, obtained from 1988 to 1993. Clara further pursued International and European Law, earning a Master derecho internacional y europeo from Universite Louvaine la Neuve during the period of 1995 to 1996. In 2007, Clara attended SDA Bocconi for a degree in Manager del Controllo di Gestione. Lastly, in 2018, they completed an Executive Programme in Executive Leadership at Harvard Business School.
