Marie-Gabrielle Verbergt is a PhD researcher at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen (FWO) since November 2019, focusing on European historical culture at the Department of History, Ghent University. Prior to this role, Marie-Gabrielle held a similar position at Universiteit Gent from October 2018 to October 2019, funded by BOF. Experience includes freelance writing as an art columnist for Kunstwerkt vzw and serving as a public history intern at STAM - Stadsmuseum Gent. Additional contributions to Klara VRT as a freelance art critic and participation on the editorial board of the magazine Zaal Z at the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen highlight a diverse involvement in the arts and public history. Education includes a Doctorate in History from Ghent University and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, along with several other relevant academic qualifications.
