Kristien Spooren is currently a PhD student at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen (FWO) since October 2019 and serves as the communication officer at Mensen Zeggen Dingen since January 2019. With a diverse work background, Kristien has been involved as a babysitter for Bsit | Collaborative Childcare App since February 2012, as a freelance writer since September 2011, and held various roles including a floor staff member at HUIZE COLETTE, an interim youth worker, and a reporter for IJD Jongerenpastoraal Vlaanderen. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in African Languages and Cultures from Ghent University (2016-2018) and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Ghent University (2013-2017), complemented by a brief study in Anthropology at Université de Lubumbashi (2015-2016).
