Jelle Vekeman is a FWO Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen since October 2022, focusing on the complexities of zeolite nucleation through enhanced sampling molecular dynamics simulations. Concurrently, Jelle serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Molecular Modeling, developing rapid and reliable models for predicting polymer solubility. Previously, Jelle held postdoctoral positions at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where similar solubility prediction work was undertaken, and completed a joint PhD at the University of Valencia and University of Perugia, involving the development of force fields for molecular simulations related to gas adsorption on graphene. Jelle also gained experience as a Visiting PhD Student at AlyaTech during the PhD studies. Jelle earned a Master's degree in Chemistry from Ghent University in 2014.
