Gunnar Schaefer serves as an Angel Investor at NuFund Venture Group, actively participating in one of the largest early-stage investor groups in the U.S. Additionally, Gunnar mentors startups in the Beyond Japan program at the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur at UC San Diego. In advisory roles, Gunnar contributes strategic insights to multiple startups, including Polygon Health, AE Studio, Trenser Technology Solutions, Stratagen Bio, and Nakamir. As a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Flywheel.io, Gunnar has played a critical role in developing a biomedical research informatics platform since 2015. Furthermore, Gunnar has served on the selection committee of iSelect Fund, facilitating investment evaluations in food and health sectors. Gunnar holds a Diplom-Ingenieur in Computer Engineering from Kiel University and has studied at Virginia Wesleyan University.
