Silvia M. Pease is an accomplished educator and creative professional with extensive experience in design and art history. Currently an Associate Professor at Florida International University since August 2014, Pease focuses on Graphic Design for Social Change and service learning courses. As the Principal and Creative Director at Studio 1231 since September 2011, Pease leads a multidisciplinary design practice and theoretical writings in various design fields. Formerly, Pease served as Director of Education on the AIGA MIA Executive Board, Vice President of UX Global Branding Design at IDGMI, and Assistant Professor at the University of Miami. Pease co-founded Carregal Pease Design Group and worked as a branding consultant for Guggenheim Partners, specializing in strategic branding and visual design for notable clients. Pease holds a PhD in Philosophy of Aesthetics and Art Theory, an MFA in Design & Multimedia, a BFA in Graphic Design, and participated in Harvard's Project Zero Sparks program.
