Marco Carvalho

Professor In Computer Science at Florida Institute of Technology

Marco Carvalho is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as a Professor in Computer Science at the Florida Institute of Technology, holding the L3Harris Endowed Chair for Assured Information since January 2012. Carvalho's extensive experience includes leadership roles such as Executive Vice President and Provost, Acting President, and Dean of the College of Engineering and Science at IHMC, where involvement has spanned from 2000 to the present. Prior to IHMC, Carvalho worked as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and as a Network Operations Manager at Gulf Coast Internet Company. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tulane University and multiple degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from Universidade de Brasília and the University of West Florida.
