Sam Richardson is the current FSPA Chair and Theatre Department at FLINT INSTITUTE OF MUSIC. Sam previously worked as the Education and Engagement Director at Flint Youth Theatre from June 2006 to August 2016. In this position, they were responsible for developing and maintaining integrity of education budget, providing leadership for and oversight of the curriculum for educational programming and outreach initiatives, assigning, monitoring and evaluating instructors for all education programming and outreach initiatives, scheduling and coordinating all community educational programming, developing, creating and adapting all Educator Guides and surveys, participating in strategic planning, teaching all aspects theatre to students aged two through adult (including students with special needs), directing Mainstage Productions and Staged Readings (including James and the Giant Peach, Alice in Wonderland, The Cat in the Hat, Go, Dog. Go!, Stuart Little and Shipwrecked!), responsible for making projected budgetary goals for all educational programming, and assisted in monitoring and enforcing company policies and procedures. Prior to their work at Flint Youth Theatre, Sam Richardson worked as the Assistant Technical Director at Concordia University Ann Arbor from September 2005 to May 2006.
Sam Richardson has a Master of Fine Arts in Drama/Theatre For The Young from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Theatre/Theater from Lees-McRae College.
They are on a team with Dilek Engin-Stolarchuk - FSPA Chair, Strings Department, Delaina Oberman - FSPA Chair, Percussion Department, and David Lindsey - FSPA Chair, Voice Department. Their manager is Dare Stogner, FSPA Program Coordinator.
