Hugo Sardinha has worked in various roles over the past 8 years. In 2012, they began as a Trainee and Engineering Services - Gas & Power B2B at Galp Energia. In 2015, they took on the role of Tutor at Tutorful. In 2016, they became a Post Graduate Researcher at the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics. In 2017, they became a Teaching Assistant at Heriot-Watt University. Finally, in 2020, they began as a Robotics Software Engineer at Five AI.

Hugo Sardinha completed a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Specialism in Control Systems from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2011. Hugo also participated in an Erasmus Program at Warsaw University of Technology from 2010. In 2015, they earned a Master's Degree in Robotics, Autonomous and Interactive Systems from Heriot-Watt University. Hugo is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at Heriot-Watt University, which they are expected to complete in 2021. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Cambridge in 2006 and an Artificial Intelligence Planning certification from Coursera in 2014.
