Thomas R. Pantino

Tom has handled claims and litigation representing numerous component part manufacturers and service providers throughout the U.S. and abroad since joining the the FitzHunt attorneys in 1993. The vast majority of Tom’s cases have involved product liability claims alleging wrongful death, personal injury and property damage.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Tom was a systems design and development engineer on the U.S. Navy F-14D fighter jet program at Grumman Aerospace Corp. (now Northrop-Grumman Corp.). Tom began his law school studies while at Grumman, focusing on the intellectual property disciplines, including patent, trademark, and copyright law. His technical and legal background allowed him to sit for the Patent Bar Exam, and Tom became a registered patent attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Before joining the Fitzpatrick & Hunt group, he worked at law firms specializing in intellectual property law, where he defended clients in trademark infringement litigation, and prosecuted patent applications before the USPTO.

Once back in the aviation arena upon joining the Fitzpatrick & Hunt group, Tom actually represented his former employer Grumman Aerospace in wrongful death claims involving U.S. Navy aircraft, including the F-14. Tom has since successfully defended clients in litigation arising out of aircraft incidents, asbestos exposure, and breach of contract.

In addition to the state courts in New York, Tom is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Tom has written several articles in the products liability area, has made product integrity presentations to clients, and has been a Lawline CLE Faculty Member. Tom is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the Aviation Insurance Association. Tom is a huge hockey fan, and also enjoys water-related activities. especially kayaking and fishing.
