James C. Wu is an experienced investor and machine learning expert, currently serving as the Infrastructure & AI Investor at First Round Capital since 2022, focusing on early-stage AI, data, development tools, and security companies. Previously, James held the position of Lead ML Scientist at Amperity, where significant contributions included leading a production ML project and coauthoring a patent and research paper related to customer lifetime value modeling. As the Cofounder and CEO of AdaptiLab, a B2B SaaS startup, James developed innovative solutions to enhance machine learning team productivity. In prior roles, James contributed as a Freestyle Engineering Fellow and conducted machine learning research at Duke University and LUCAS, where significant research was supported by a Department of Defense grant. James pursued an MBA at Stanford University Graduate School of Business but did not complete the program.
