Julie Bougher has a diverse work experience in various roles related to music. Julie started their career as a violinist at the Delaware Symphony in 2007 and continued to work as a violinist for other orchestras, including the Allentown Symphony Association, Riverside Symphonia, and as a freelance musician.

In 2008, Julie founded the Elysium Quartet, where they served as a violinist and manager. Julie also owned Twin Rivers Music and worked as a violin and viola teacher from 2002 onwards.

Julie expanded their career into academia, becoming a professor of violin and viola at Lafayette College from 2012 to 2020. Additionally, they served as an artist in residence and adjunct professor at Temple University in 2008 and 2009.
