Meena Patel has a diverse work experience that spans over several reputable organizations. Meena most recently held the position of Head of National Risk and Assurance at Fire and Emergency NZ starting from February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Director at Deloitte New Zealand from March 2018 to February 2022. Meena also worked at Land Information New Zealand as a Risk Manager from June 2015 to February 2018, where they focused on embedding effective risk management and business continuity practices. Before that, they held various roles at BP, including Commercial Manager and Internal Audit Manager, where they played a significant role in sales and marketing and performed internal controls audits. Meena began their career at EY as an Assistant Manager, responsible for financial audits and assessing compliance with regulations.

Meena Patel began their education in 2003 at Victoria University of Wellington, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree. During their four years at the university, they focused on studying accounting, information systems, and commercial law. After completing their undergraduate degree, they went on to attend Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand from 2007 to 2010. Here, they obtained a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
