Darryl Purdy

Deputy Chief Executive, Finance And Business Operations at Fire and Emergency NZ

Darryl Purdy has extensive work experience in finance and business operations. Darryl served as Deputy Chief Executive of Finance and Business Operations at Fire and Emergency NZ from February 2019 to the present. Prior to that, they held the position of Manager Analytics & Financial Advisory at MidCentral District Health Board from August 2017 to February 2019. From April 2011 to August 2017, they were the Chief Financial Officer of UCOL Universal College of Learning. Before that, they also held various roles at UCOL including Chief Financial & Information Officer from October 2002 to April 2011 and Financial Controller from May 1999 to September 2002. Darryl also worked at Land Transport Safety Authority as a Section Manager of Finance, Operations from September 1998 to April 1999, and at Higgins Group as a Systems Accountant from November 1997 to August 1998.

Darryl Purdy completed their education in a chronological order. Darryl first attended Manawatu Polytechnic from 1988 to 1989, where they earned a New Zealand Diploma in Business (NDB). Following that, from 1990 to 1991, they studied at Massey University and obtained a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) with a focus on Accountancy. Finally, from 1993 to 1995, they attended NZICA, where they achieved a degree as a Chartered Accountant (CA). Additionally, in June 2022, Darryl obtained a certification in Learning Data Governance from LinkedIn.
