Ioannis Stavrou, MD, PhD, FWAMS, currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences and Associate Professor at the American University of Athens since September 2023. With extensive experience in anesthesiology and pain management, Ioannis Stavrou operates a private practice as an Anesthesiologist-Pain Specialist since February 2022 and holds the position of Academy Professor of Anesthesiology and Chairman of the Anesthesiology and Pain Management Board at the World Academy of Medical Sciences. Prior roles include Director of the Medical Department at the Mediterranean Rehabilitation Center and Consultant Anesthesiologist at the Euroclinic Group. Ioannis Stavrou has also contributed to medical education as a co-author of several medical manuals and has held various positions in prominent healthcare institutions. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, along with a degree from the American College of Greece.
