Harry Godber is an Australian independent director and fintech expert. Harry is currently the independent director at Fintech Australia.
Godber has a long history of working in various aspects of the technology industry. In October 2018, they became the product and strategy manager at CSIRO's Data61. Harry was responsible for advising the leadership of Australia’s largest digital innovation group on strategic direction, business analysis and government relations. Harry also presented research and commentary at conferences on startups, the future of work, skills and open government.
In June 2019, Godber became the fintech & financial regulation adviser to the Morrison Government. In this role, they oversaw the launch of the Consumer Data Right, the delivery of an $800 million fintech policy platform, and the most significant reforms to Australian payments regulation since 1997. Harry also developed and delivered critical support measures for the tech sector through the COVID pandemic.
Godber has been instrumental in shaping Australia’s fintech landscape. Their experience and expertise have made him a valuable asset to both the private and public sector.
Harry Godber completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Economics (BEc) at the University of Sydney. Harry also holds a Licentiate Diploma in Music, Australia (LMusA) in Cello Performance from the Australian Music Examinations Board. Harry has completed a Masterclass in Strategy from the Boston Consulting Group. Harry attended Sydney Grammar School and has a Certification from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency in AGSVA Security Clearance – Negative Vetting Level 2 (‘Top Secret’).
