Vanessa Hernandez has a long and varied work experience. Vanessa began their career in 2004 as an Assistant to the General Manager for Union Brokers, a duty-free retail store located inside Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport in Honduras. In 2010, they moved to Taiwan Asia Strategy Consulting as a Strategy Consultant, where they conducted in-depth research and analyses of Asian markets. In 2011, they took on the role of International Bid and Business Development Manager for HengTong Group, based in Shanghai, China. In 2013, they became a Bids & Marketing Executive for Marriott International, where they drove top line revenues and increased market share for Marriott's suite of seven luxury hotels in Dubai. In 2014, they took on the role of Associate Market Manager for Expedia, Inc., where they were responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate accounts and negotiating commercial rates. In 2019, they became a Community Host for Finimize, where they organized and hosted community events in Dubai that aimed to democratize financial education. Finally, in 2022, they became an Independent Associate for the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI).

Vanessa Hernandez has a diverse educational background. Vanessa began their studies in 2006 at the National Taiwan Normal University, where they completed a Chinese Language Programme. In 2007, they moved on to Tamkang University to pursue a B.B.A in International Business and Marketing, which they completed in 2011. In 2020, they enrolled at the University of Cambridge to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (PCSB) in Sustainability Studies. Vanessa is currently enrolled at The University of Edinburgh, where they are working towards a Global Food Security and Nutrition degree in Food Science and Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
