Richard Harmon is currently an advisor at FinCrime Dynamics, but they have held various other positions in the financial sector over the course of their career. Richard was previously the global managing director for financial services at Cloudera from May 2016 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for leading Cloudera's global business development activities across the financial services sector. Richard also worked closely with customers to identify key use cases for driving adoption of the next generation Enterprise Cloud Platform. In addition, they drove thought leadership for Cloudera in financial services through the development of solution maturity maps, publications, speaking engagements, press interviews and executive workshops.

Prior to their role at Cloudera, Richard Harmon held various other positions in the financial sector. Richard has experience identifying new market opportunities and regulatory challenges with strategic partners, customers, regulators and academic institutions to bring innovative Machine Learning and AI driven solutions to our global customer base. Richard has also created global solution-focused sales programs around such topics as the next generation Financial Crime platform, Market Risk Capital requirements (FRTB), Account & Financial Transformation (IFRS-9 & IFRS-17), the Alternative Data Revolution and the role of Advanced Simulation capabilities for innovative fraud detection capabilities, market simulation and risk management. In their most recent role at Cloudera, they focused on building out a Central Banking and Regulatory Big Data & Analytics practice with 30+ new central banking and regulatory customers secured over the past 3.5 years.

Richard Harmon has a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University, an MA in Economics from The Ohio State University, and a BS in Economics and Political Science from American University.
