Derek Brower is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in political and energy news. Currently serving as the US Political News Editor at Financial Times since February 2020, Derek oversees US political coverage, including the 2024 election, and manages reporting from Washington DC, along with coverage of the Federal Reserve, the US economy, and foreign policy. Previously, Derek held positions as US Energy Editor, where leadership involved overseeing clean energy and climate policy coverage, and Editor of the Energy Source newsletter. Prior experience includes roles as Director at RS Energy Group, Managing Director of Research at Petroleum Policy Intelligence, Editor-in-Chief at Petroleum Economist, and Contributor at The Economist.
