Martin Cooke

Martin Cooke has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to credit risk and lending. Martin started their career at Bank of Ireland as a Credit Officer and later served as an Assistant Manager in Marketing. In 1994, they joined ACCBank as a General Manager of Credit Risk, where they were responsible for assessing credit applications and setting up a Credit Control unit. In 2006, Martin established their own consultancy business, Cooke Financial Services, providing services to banks and individual clients. During this time, they primarily worked with lenders in ACCBank's business units, assisting with credit proposals and risk assessment. In 2007, Martin joined Investec as the Head of Portfolio Management and Head of Credit Risk, where they developed the credit risk function and proposed the creation of a 'bad loan' team. Martin worked at Investec until 2015. From 2016 to 2018, Martin worked as a Senior Administration Manager for the MilkFlex Fund at Finance Ireland, administering funds and performing early credit checks. In 2019, they worked as a contractor for NTTDATA, outsourcing business processes for lending and credit to India. In 2020, Martin worked as a contractor for NTT DATA Services. Finally, in 2022, Martin joined Finance Ireland as the Head of Agri Credit.

Martin Cooke holds a Master's degree in Food, Nutrition & Health from University College Dublin, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Martin also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Dublin City University, which they attained from 1993 to 1995. In addition, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, General from University College Dublin, completing their studies from 1981 to 1986. Further, they have obtained additional certifications, including an APA from the Institute of Bankers in 2012, and a Banking diploma from the Institute of Bankers Ireland.
