Mirwais Mehrab is a dedicated sports medicine resident currently working at UMC Utrecht, while also serving as Team Doctor for Feyenoord Rotterdam N.V.'s youth team. As a PhD candidate at Erasmus MC, Mirwais investigates sports injuries related to CrossFit and other activities to promote safe participation in sports. Additional roles include founding the Stichting Rotterdam Weightlifting Showdown, serving as Team Physician for the Dutch Weightlifting Association, and acting as Medical Director for the CrossFit Lowlands Throwdown. Mirwais has diverse experience, including previous positions as an orthopedic surgery resident and emergency medicine resident, as well as coaching Olympic weightlifting. Mirwais holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Medicine from Erasmus University Rotterdam, alongside a minor in Innovation and Marketing from Erasmus School of Economics.
