Phil Greene is a highly experienced physicist with a robust background in advanced materials and plasma diagnostics. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Ferrotec since September 2010, Phil has previously contributed to Applied Materials as a Member of the Technical Staff, focusing on the development of large area coating equipment using magnetron sputtering for applications such as thin film solar products and energy-efficient architectural coatings. Earlier roles include serving as a Physicist Level 3 at L3 Pulse Sciences, where Phil developed a Density Controlled Vacuum Opening Switch and advanced diagnostics for plasma characterization, and as a Senior Scientist at Science Research Laboratories, leading the development of a high density vacuum arc source and associated diagnostic tools. Phil holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BS in Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
