Hilla Laakkonen is an experienced professional in the fields of insurance claims handling and academia. Currently serving as an Insurance Claims Handler at Fennia since January 2023, Hilla is involved in processing health-related claims in voluntary personal injury cases. Prior experience includes mentoring sail trainees at Suomen Purjelaivasäätiö and various academic roles at the University of Helsinki, including Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant focused on animal emotions. Hilla also held positions at Pohjoisranta Harbour as a Marine Gas Station Cashier across multiple summers, gained seasonal experience in a plant nursery, and contributed to the Ruralia Institute as a board member. Hilla holds a Master's degree in Forest Ecology and Management and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Forestry from the University of Helsinki, alongside a background in Visual and Performing Arts.
