For over 25 years, Deirdre Black has invested in early-stage companies and social impact ventures. Her professional background is in corporate finance, including investment banking at Morgan Stanley in New York and London and serving as Vice President, Finance, at McCaw Cellular in Seattle. From 2018 to 2019, Deirdre resided in Accra, Ghana where she collaborated on capacity building projects for various organizations including a leading private university, a for-profit entity engaged in international education and social impact entrepreneurship, and small to medium parastatal enterprises. Deirdre has served on numerous non-profit boards in the US and in Ghana, primarily focused on education and human welfare. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Master in Teaching from City University. Deirdre has three adult children and currently resides in Seattle with her husband.
