Chief Executive Officer at FeedBack Earth

Alison Greenlee has a diverse work experience in various engineering and leadership roles. Alison is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Feedback Earth since 2021. Previously, they held the same position at Leading Edge Crystal Technologies starting in 2016.

Before that, they co-founded Sandymount Technologies in 2016 and served as the Co-founder and CTO. In this role, they led the technical development of a taste-neutral process to concentrate beer, wine, and juices.

Alison also worked at the Office of Digital Learning and Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for Professor John Hart from 2015 to 2016. During this time, they developed the first online university course and video-lecture series on manufacturing.

Prior to that, they were a Ph.D. Student in Mechanical Engineering at MIT from 2012 to 2015. Their research focused on the development of an analytical model for the Horizontal Ribbon Growth (HRG) silicon ribbon process. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant and Tata Fellow during their time at MIT.

In 2013, Alison co-founded SachSiSolar Inc., a silicon materials company, where they raised funds, designed testing equipment, and improved existing silicon casting machines.

Alison also gained experience as an R&D Photovoltaics Engineer at 1366 Technologies, Inc from 2011 to 2012, where they designed and tested experimental setups for their Direct Wafer process.

Alison started their academic journey at MIT as an S.M. Student in Mechanical Engineering and B.S. Student in Operations Management from 2009 to 2011. Alison worked on the development of a melting and directional solidification process for improving the grain structure and electronic properties of a silicon wafer.

Additionally, they worked briefly as a Sustainability Extern at Transsolar Energietechnik GmbH in Germany and as a Deepwater Risers and Pipelines Engineering Intern at ExxonMobil in 2009 and 2008 respectively. At Transsolar Energietechnik GmbH, they calculated the energy consumption and carbon footprint for a newly constructed complex in Toronto. At ExxonMobil, they analyzed the tradeoffs of different offshore flowline heating strategies and authored a report guiding future management decisions.

Alison Greenlee attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for their higher education. Alison obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering and Operations Management, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they continued their studies at MIT and earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, completing it in 2011. Alison then pursued further specialization in their field of interest and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, concluding their studies in 2015.
