Pia Orrenius serves as Vice President and Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, leading the regional and microeconomics group within the Dallas Fed Research Department since August 1999. Additionally, Pia holds the position of Senior Research Fellow at the SMU Tower Center for Public Policy and International Affairs and serves as a Research Fellow at the SMU Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center, both roles dating back to 2007 and 2017, respectively. Pia also has experience as an Adjunct Professor at Baylor University from 2008 to 2020 and worked as a Senior Economist for the President's Council of Economic Advisers from 2004 to 2005. Educational credentials include a PhD in Economics from UCLA and a BA in Economics and Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
