Benjamin Merran is an accomplished Industry Economist at the Federal Maritime Commission since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Director and Senior Analyst at NEXA Capital Partners from February 2020 to December 2022. Benjamin also held the position of Strategic Convening Intern at the German Marshall Fund of the United States in late 2018, where responsibilities included researching individuals and organizations for events. Previous roles involve drafting minutes and briefs as an Executive Intern at the U.S. Department of State and conducting audits as a Revenue Control Specialist at HMSHost. Benjamin holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Penn State University.
