Richard van Elsacker has an extensive career in sports communication and journalism, beginning with academic training at the Academie voor Journalistiek en Voorlichting in Tilburg. From July 1990, Richard worked as a journalist at various media outlets, including GPD and De Krant op Zondag, before becoming a sports editor at B.V. Weekbladpers. Richard transitioned to television as a program maker at CANAL+ and later served as a professional freelancer in media and communication projects. In January 2002, Richard joined FC Utrecht as Manager of Communication, subsequently taking on roles at SC Cambuur and FC Groningen, where responsibilities grew to include Head of Communication and Press Officer. Throughout the career, Richard has demonstrated a commitment to effective communication within the realm of professional football.
