Sarah Luther has extensive work experience in the legal field. Sarah is currently employed as a Corporate Counsel at Farmer's Business Network, Inc. since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Attorney at Mills Shirley LLP from September 2019 to January 2022, where they practiced litigation and transactional law, including intellectual property, real estate law, civil litigation, employment law, landlord/tenant, and insurance law. Sarah also performed research, conducted depositions, prepared memorandums and motions, and drafted transactional documents. During their time at Mills Shirley LLP, they also worked as a Law Clerk from January 2018 to September 2019.
Before joining Mills Shirley LLP, Sarah served as a Publications Editor at the University of Houston - Institute for Intellectual Property Law from June 2016 to December 2018. Sarah'sresponsibilities included editing flyers and brochures for the institute and gathering data for alumni of the program.
Sarah gained further legal experience as a Patent Experience Extern at USPTO from May 2018 to August 2018. Additionally, they worked as a Summer Associate at Blank Rome LLP from July 2017 to August 2017, conducting research and drafting memos on various issues, and as a Summer Associate at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. from May 2017 to June 2017, where they observed depositions and motion hearings.
Sarah also has experience in the judicial field, having worked as a Judicial Intern at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas from May 2016 to August 2016. Before entering the legal profession, Sarah worked as an Engineer 1 and Engineering Specialist at the Suwannee River Water Management District from February 2014 to July 2015. Sarah'sresponsibilities included managing a contract cost-share program, calculating water needs and running groundwater models, designing water quality improvement projects, and writing grant applications.
Sarah also has experience in research and technical roles. Sarah worked as a Student Employee at the University of Florida Swine Unit from May 2012 to December 2013, where they handled swine, sheep, and poultry, and performed various tasks related to swine care. Additionally, they served as a Summer Research Intern at the University of Florida Bioenergy and Sustainable Technology Laboratory from May 2012 to August 2012, where they improved research techniques, conducted research on anaerobic digestion of horse bedding, and presented their findings at local and international conferences.
Sarah Luther obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Houston Law Center, graduating in 2018. Alongside their law studies, they also completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business during the same period. Prior to that, Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Florida, between 2010 and 2013. In addition to their formal education, Sarah obtained a certification in Professional Research from Lexis Nexis in February 2018.
