Robert Owens is the Senior Director of Fixed Income Strategy at Farmer Mac. Robert has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Farmer Mac, they were a Senior Managing Consultant at Navigant, where they advised clients on financial and accounting dimensions of pending or current litigation. Robert also managed data mining teams, which developed databases used to generate financial models and analyses for expert testimony in litigation. Owens also spent two years as an Application Developer at American Management Systems, where they designed and implemented solutions to the corporate financial system. Robert began their career as a Senior Accountant at Bowling, Franklin, and Company CPAs. Owens has a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Robert Owens received their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Maryland in the field of finance and general accounting. Robert also received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in accounting from Virginia Tech. In addition, Robert Owens is certified by the State of Virginia as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).
